Ninja Scroll

Director: Yoshiaki Kawajiri

Producer: Masaki Sawanobori, Shigeki Komatsu & Haruo Sai

Plot: Wondering Ninja Jubei saves the life of a young female ninja from a indestructible demon. After a very grueling duel Jubei defeats the demon, the young nina - Kagero. Kagero explains that she was part of a the Koga Ninja's, they were sent out to Shimota village where a mysterious plague has poisoned all of it's residents. Although encountering the demon it easily slaughter the entire ninja squad, sparing Kagero.

It seems that the demon is one of several other demons led by Lord Himuro Gemma, arch-rival of Jubei. Gemma tricked Jubei's own clan into trying to kill him for being a traitor. Forcing Jubei into killing the Yamashiro clan defending himself, in revenge of their deaths he manages to surprise Gemma and beheads him, sending Himuro Gemma to hell. Now he's back and he has the ability to regenerate any limbs he looses.

Jubei soon finds himself poisoned by one of the demons, now at the peril of a mysterious spy known as Dakuan who promises him the cure. Now it's up to Jubei, Kagero and Dukuan to take on Himuro Gemma and send his ass back to hell!

Review: This was a heck of a film, filled with violence, ninjas and boobs.

Kagero's character has a little twist to her, she's immune to poison, yet it has it's draw backs - she's poisonous. Basically anyone she sleeps with it'll kill them. Yep she's got a poison p*ssy and I'm sorry I just had to say that. As her friendship wit Jubei progresses you can notice a strong love growing between them.

The film is based on the old Ninja novels by Futaro Yamada. The characters in the movie are also based on supposedly based on real live Japanese legends. Although I don't think this entire movie could be based on real life characters, because I would not look forward meeting Himuro Gemma or even the elegant Kagero and her poison p*ssy! Sorry I needed a good excuse to say that again.

Final thoughts, if sci-fi gore flicks like Ghost in the Shell and Akira aren't your cups of tea, Ninja Scroll is a winner! Enjoy!
