What Inspired Us to Make this Website?

We this started in the mid April of 2003. Stewart Sutherland had gained a friendship with most members of the Sammo Hung Forum. Mostly with James Aylmore. After having extensive conversations with James, Stewart created Hong Kong Cinema.tk along with a staff of four, all from the Sammo Hung Forum.

I'm happy with our progress, we have over 50 reviews written and hosted on the site, to go along with 50 odd Hong Kong Actor/Actresses Profiles. We have at least 5 new visitors everyday and another 10 coming back for more. We plan on updating the website weekly, every Friday/Saturday.

I love this site. Its great. It's this reason that Stewart convinced me that going into a partnership on the site was a good idea. He does most of the work on the site but I'm slowly learning to help out more. The future's bright but its not orange. For us its just bright. Maybe a jadey color which is the color of our background but I can't see that changing just yet. The thing that I feel makes this site great is the amount of info and news we manage to get. Sure there is a lot more info we could bring on for you. But its early days yet and these things take time. Before you know we'll be like the great jackiechan.com (RIP). :D

Stewart Sutherland thoughts of Hong Kong Cinema (January 2004)

Beginning of the year! Will we last another year? Of Course! We have written up 93 reviews on various Asian films. We have articles with people who have worked with Jet Li. Interviews with Hong Kong Cinema Whiz Bey Logan. I think were doing pretty well for ourselves. Even achieving another member of staff, who will become our Hong Kong representative. Also we have nearly reached over five thousand visitors. And Counting... 

Stewart Sutherland thoughts of HKCuk (Febuary 2005)

Man, its been over a year since I've done this. We closed HKC for a couple months in early January and I worked my ass off over the two months to get the Website up and running. The forum is also getting popular so I hope its easy sailing from here. Its also cool to think we are actually giving away prizes too! We plan to give out more DVDs and prizes in the year.

As we look on towards the end of the year HKCuk is still running strong. We've set up our affilate program with HKFlix.com, I'm getting free HKL dvds for helping to Moderate their forums. Recently we even reviewed a manga/anime movie; Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children. We've even got Matt as a new Admin on the site who helps out with the news section. Plus were in the middle of a stephen chow month, woo!
